Unyielded Spirit
This is 16th my DTM work and 6th song track. It is called as “Unyielded Spirit". Please take a listen to it.

In my tenure of the band which I had led, this song always was included in the set list for any club performance.
Almost this song was set in the last of the set list or the first one. If this song was not the last one, our band always set the cover of “The Fist Time I Met The Blues" by Buddy Guy as the last one of our set list.
The situation is the same as my “The Broken Heart Of A Harlequin". I had not played this song at all for long time. Some part of lyrics could not be remembered. But my hands took all chord, riff and bridge back to me. Also I could remember the theme of this song clearly. So, it was easy work to add new lines to the lyrics.
But it was a little bit hard work to record the rhythm guitar track. It took whole 2 weeks because I could not get the take I convinced till the 14th day since I stared trying to take the rhythm track.
The riffs of this song is not difficult to be played by the guitar. But the groove I want to take into this song is very hard to be caught and be driven. Or I forgot how to catch the groove for driving this song because it had been long time since I played this song.
No, I found that I had not caught the groove of this song correctly since I wrote this song. Now I got the genuine groove of this song finally. In that context, this song has started to work finally now.
Anyway I could catch the groove I want and release this song in DTM format.

私がリーダーを務めるバンドで活動していた時代、この曲はどのライヴハウスで演奏する時も、常にセットリストに組み込まれていました。
多くの場合、この曲はセットリストのトリでした。セットリストのトリでなければ、アタマに持ってきていました。この曲がセットリストのアタマになっている時は、セットリストのトリは、Buddy Guyの「The First Time I Met The Blues」のカバーでした。
拙作「The Broken Heart Of A Harlequin」と同様、この曲も長い間全く弾いていませんでした。歌詞のいくつかの行は思い出すことが出来ませんでしたが、全てのコード、リフ、ブリッジは、私の手が勝手に全て思い出してくれました。この曲のテーマはとてもよく覚えていたので、歌詞に新しく数行付け足すことは何のことはありませんでした。
しかし、この曲のリズム・ギターを録音するのはちょっと難儀でした。リズム・ギターを録ることに取りかかってから１４日目にしてようやく自分で納得のいくテイクが録れるようになりました。つまり、丸々二週間もこの曲のリズム・ギターを録るのにかかったことになります。
この曲のリフは、ギターで弾くのに難しいものではありません。しかし、この曲に組み込みたいグルーヴを捉え、曲を駆動させるのはとても難しいです。もしかすると、長いことこの曲を弾いていなかったから、この曲を駆動させるグルーヴを私が忘れてしまっていたのかもしれません。
いや、そうではなく、私は今まで一度もこの曲のグルーヴを正しく捉えたことがないという事実に気がつかされました。今になってようやく、この曲の真のグルーヴを捉えることが出来た、ということのようです。そういう意味では、ようやく今になって、この曲は動き始めてくれました。
兎にも角にも、この曲に必要だったグルーヴを捉えて、こうしてDTM作品という形で発表出来ました。
