This is 12th my DTM work and 2nd song track. It is called as “The Broken Heart Of A Harlequin". Please take a listen to it.

This is 12th DTM work and 2nd song track. I wrote this song long ago. Lyrics was something personal ones. I still remember when I wrote this song. It took just 2 hours for me to complete song and lyrics as autumn sunshine and winds were flowing in my room. The title inspired by Mr. Masao Yamaguchi’s Cultural Anthology of Harlequins.

This song had been taken one of repertories by two bands that I had been participated in. This song had been played in many clubs. Too many memory about this song to write down this page.

To record my vocal, I should reserve a rental studio room because I could not sing covered my comforter in my room. At the time of vox recording on “Lady Santa Clause", I borrowed a condenser microphone but I could not know how to patch a pop guard and a suspension holder. So, I recorded my vox by a dynamic microphone in that time preventing from wasting time.

At this time, I asked the stuff of the rental studio how to use them. He explained me kindly. My audio interface is Focusrite Scarlett. So, it equips a phantom power source. Thank you very much for kind explanation.

It was the first time that my musicman was taken out from the hard case during 13-4 years. Due to the long time driving, all fret of my musicman are too rough badly to sound correctly. But this wears might show how many I played this guitar in rehearsals and gigs, I think.

　DTM１２作目、歌曲としては２曲目になります。これも相当昔に書いた曲ですが、個人的な内容の曲です。秋の西日が差し込み、涼しい秋風が部屋にそよぐ中、２時間程度で一気に全部書き上げたことをよく覚えています。タイトルは、当時読んでいた山口昌男氏の名著『道化の民俗学』に感じ入るところがあって、そこからつけました。

　この曲は、２つのバンドでレパートリーとして取り上げてもらって、あちこちで演奏しました。この曲にまつわる思い出はたくさんあるのですが、書くと際限なくなるので、やめておきます。

　ボーカルを録るときは、さすがに自宅で布団かぶって歌う、というわけにもいかないので、貸しスタジオを借ります。歌曲１作目の「Lady Santa Clause」の時も、貸しスタジオを借りて、コンデンサマイクも借りたのですが、サスペンションホルダとポップガードの取り付け方がよくわからず、結局その時はダイナミックマイクで録りました（時間が惜しかったので・・・）。

　今回はスタジオのスタッフの方にお伺いしたところ、丁寧に教えてくださって、無事使うことができました。オーディオインターフェイスは、FocusriteのScarlettを使っているため、ファンタム音源は持ってましたので。ご対応してくださったスタッフの方、ありがとうございました。

　長年こき使ったせいでしょう、１５、６年振りに引っ張り出した私のMusicmanですが、ほぼ全てのフレットで凹みがひどく、だんだんあちこち音が出なくなってきました。それだけ練習した、ライブした、ってことかな、と納得するようにしてます。
