Goodbye 73
(In English is upper, In Japanese is lower.)
This is 13th my DTM work. It is a song track called as “Goodbye 73". Please take a listen to it.
(2023-12-30 the remixed version has been uploaded.)
This song was written many many years ago. I wrote this song inspired by the existed female singer who had a great ambition but had retreated with her face forwarded.
And this song musically was inspired by Jack Bruce’s “Kwela" in “A Question of Time" album. I am still big fan of Jack Bruce and I love this song. So, I had thought if I could write the song like that in the electric guitar riff oriented rock style. If you know “Kwela", you can hear that I sing a little bit of “Kwela" in ending riff of this track.
This track recording rehearsal was the first time I play and sing this song during a decade and more years. But my system remember all chord, structure and riffs. I could remember almost lyrics but forgot some lines. So, lyric was modified and added some new lines to reinforce this song message at the same time.
As same as “Lady Santa Clause", this song achieved one of my ideal “a rock song without the lead guitar section".
The lyric as below.
Goodbye 73
In the orange age
Wrote down the cream page
Plum in bloom, the little one in the little cage
Left down the brown hill
Not show your play again
Rain must fall without fail
Life needs a little bit of pain
Don’t think what you did bad
What you dreamt made no sad
Leave yourself in clam waves
Walk on the sand barefoot
You’re still a leaf of green
Daren’t be the slave of dream
Bite the sour lemon
But it tastes good isn’t it
Look up your grape tree
Climbed up from tricky weeds
Bunches you got is not in vein
Don’t think what you did bad
What you dreamt made no sad
Leave yourself in clam waves
Walk on the sand barefoot
You’re still a leaf of green
Daren’t be the slave of dream
Here comes waves all around you
You can still spread your wings
In the Milky Way
The lucky star still smile for you from so far
Look up your orange tree
Go along the trace of dream
Life needs a little bit of pain
Don’t think what you did bad
What you dreamt made no sad
Look up girl, lift up your head
Dream is over, got you stay in the town
Dream is over, got you stay in the town
You’re still a leaf of green
Daren’t be the slave of dream
Here comes waves all around you
You can still spread your wings
